Pointe-Taillon national park

(Region : Saguenay – Lac Saint-Jean)

The tranquillity of a delta just above the surface of the water...

On the east shore of Lac Saint-Jean, Pointe-Taillon extends into a long, sandy peninsula which forms part of the Peribonka River delta.

A sand bar goes around the edge of the peninsula while in the centre there is a vast peat bog. Ponds, marshes and bogs provide a multitude of aquatic habitats in addition to nearby Lac Saint-Jean and the Peribonka River.

Many animals have made their home in the park. Beavers and moose predominate. It is quite common to see signs of their presence or to come across them by chance on a hike.
