In the heart of the forest of Rambouillet, the Office National des Forêts invites walkers to explore the 250 hectares of the Espace Rambouillet and discover all the charm, mystery and beauty of the forest and its wildlife.
Stags, doe, roe and fallow deer, wild boar and even aurochs roam freely here in their natural habitat...
And beyond the forests, a whole host of places to visit...
The château of Rambouillet
Visit this 14th century château, the former residence of King Louis XVI. Its interior decor is stunning, for example in the marble hall, the superb oak panelling and interiors in the Neo-Pompeian style of the 1st Empire. It is surrounded by formal French gardens with canals and six islands.
The Bergerie Nationale (National sheep farm)
You can take the children to visit a gigantic working farm with horses, cows, pigs, chickens and of course its sheepfolds where over 1000 lambs are born each year, including the famous Rambouillet Merinos.
